Master Donovan Flynn began taekwondo at the age of 10, at Kim's Martial Arts in Avon Lake. He earned his first degree black belt when he was 13. He continued practicing the art, and 2 years later tested for and received his 2nd degree. Soon after, he began helping teach classes as an assistant instructor, all the while working towards his next belt. In 3 years, when he was 18, he was promoted to 3rd degree black belt. Several months later, he left for college at Miami University, where he received his Bachelor's of Arts in sociology. Though he was gone for the majority of the year, each summer he would return to Avon Lake, and continue to help out at the school. After graduating from college, he returned home once again, and began teaching at Kim's very frequently, and was made a full instructor. He is currently working on attaining his 4th degree this winter, something he has looked forward to doing for many years. Master Donovan is a great addition to our Staff and will continue to instruct and motivate our Taekwondo students. Update Master Flynn successfully received his 4th Dan, Master level, on Saturday, December 12th, 2009.
